My stop-smoking program consists of two sessions, each approximately two hours long.
What surprises most people is that the first session isn’t really about smoking.
It’s about you.
Before we ever begin changing a habit, I want you to understand how your mind works, how habits become stored in the subconscious, and why hypnosis is such a powerful tool for creating lasting change.
We’ll talk about what hypnosis is—and just as importantly, what it isn’t. I’ll answer your questions, teach you about the mind-body connection, and help you experience how naturally your own mind responds to hypnosis. Depending on your individual needs, we may also use other techniques, such as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), to begin reducing stress and build confidence.
Most importantly, I spend that time getting to know you.
Every person’s story is different.
Some people grew up in families where everyone smoked. Others began smoking during stressful periods of their lives. Some smoke when they’re anxious, some when they’re driving, some after meals, and others simply because it has become part of their daily routine.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach.
The more I understand you, the more personalized your program becomes.
Before you leave, I’ll create a personalized hypnosis recording designed specifically for you. Between our first and second sessions, you’ll listen to that recording, allowing your subconscious mind to become familiar with the process and begin preparing for positive change.
By the time you return for your second session, you’ve already experienced hypnosis for yourself. The mystery is gone. You understand how your mind works, you’ve begun developing confidence in your own abilities, and you’ve discovered that change doesn’t have to be a struggle.
Now we’re ready to focus specifically on your smoking habits.
We’ll talk about your daily routines, identify the situations you believe will be the most challenging, and explore the triggers that have become connected with smoking. Together, we’ll prepare your subconscious mind with strategies that are tailored specifically to your life.
One of the most important principles I teach is that the subconscious mind responds best to clear, consistent messages.
If you give your subconscious mind fuzzy messages, you’ll get fuzzy results.
That’s why I ask my clients to remove every cigarette, lighter, ashtray, vape, and every piece of smoking paraphernalia from their home, car, and anywhere else they normally smoke before their stop-smoking session.
People often ask,
“Can’t I just keep one pack…just in case?”
My answer is always the same.
If you’re walking out of my office as a non-smoker, why would you need a backup plan?
That “just in case” pack tells your subconscious that part of you is already expecting to fail.
I don’t want your subconscious receiving mixed messages.
I want it receiving one clear message:
“I am a non-smoker.”
One of the questions I hear most often is:
“If I stop smoking, won’t I just replace it with food?”
My answer is simple.
No. You don’t have to replace it with anything.
My goal isn’t to help you exchange one habit for another. My goal is to help your subconscious mind let go of the need for cigarettes in the first place.
You’ll also discover some wonderful changes that come with becoming a non-smoker. You’ll wake up with a fresher mouth. Your hair and clothes will smell clean. Your home and car will smell fresher. You’ll breathe more easily, and you’ll begin noticing flavors and aromas you may not have experienced in years.
Because your sense of taste and smell often improve, we’ll also talk about enjoying those changes without replacing cigarettes with food. Becoming a non-smoker doesn’t mean replacing one habit with another. It means creating a healthier lifestyle.
I also believe that preparation is one of the keys to success.
If you notice a temporary return of cravings weeks or even months later, don’t panic.
It doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
It doesn’t mean you need a cigarette.
It simply means it’s time to use the tools you’ve already learned.
Listen to your recordings.
Use the techniques we’ve practiced.
Trust the process.
Let the feeling pass.
A temporary craving does not erase your success.
At some point you’ll probably be around someone who’s smoking.
That isn’t a failure.
It’s simply life.
The difference is that you’ll experience it differently.
Instead of thinking,
“I wish I could have one.”
You’ll begin thinking,
“I’m so glad I don’t have to do that anymore.”
You’ll notice how much easier it is to breathe.
You’ll appreciate not smelling like smoke.
You’ll enjoy having more energy.
You’ll recognize how much healthier you feel.
Instead of feeling deprived…
You’ll feel free.
You’re not responsible for anyone else’s choices.
You’re only responsible for your own.
And don’t be surprised if someone who still smokes asks you how you did it.
Sometimes your success becomes someone else’s inspiration.
Stopping smoking isn’t about fighting yourself.
It’s about teaching your subconscious mind a new way of living.
When your subconscious truly accepts that you are a non-smoker, the struggle begins to disappear.
My goal isn’t simply to help you stop smoking.
My goal is to help you become someone who no longer needs cigarettes.
Becoming a non-smoker isn’t about giving something up.
It’s about gaining your freedom.
